Game Masters

GMs (game masters) are knowledgeable teachers of games. GMs show newcomers how to play classic games up to including the hottest titles, offering unique and often rare experiences. Every GM’d event adds another way to have fun at the show. Do you need a special certification to be a GM? No. All you need is the willingness to teach a game you love to others. And if you GM enough hours with your games, you can earn a free badge on us!

GM Basics

• Please read over the GrandCon GM requirements here.

• GMs need to purchase a Game Master badge to be able to submit events.

• Games to be taught need to be provided by the Game Master

• Games considered for approval should be 5 years of age or newer to the hobby market.

• Submitted events will be reviewed by our events team before final approval.

• If any event should require more than 4 hours of playing time it will be subject to additional review.

• All submitted events must have a 30 minute window in between each.

• Prototypes, unpublished, and some self-published games will earn a GM badge refund.

• VIG badge holders will not earn a GM badge refund.

GM Badge On Us!

• GMs must submit a minimum of twelve (12) hours of game time, which must include three (3) different approved gaming events. GMs must also see their events attended by half capacity to be considered for a full badge refund. Approval of events will be based upon availability of space, game relevancy, duration and/or time of the events submitted.

• Prototypes, unpublished games, some self-published games will not qualify you for a GM badge refund.

• VIG badge holders will not qualify for a GM badge refund.

• At show end, once the events team has reviewed and approved your events, we will then refund badges minus any unattended events and processing fees. This will occur within (1) one week after the last day of the show.
